Today’s Feature: Annexing other countries

In February and March of 2025, Donald Trump expressed his desire to annex Canada as the 51st state. The question for today: Is it Nazi?

First, some context. It all began with trade and tariffs; Trump repeatedly insisted that the trade deals with Canada (and numerous other countries) were unfair to the US. He has been raising tariffs everywhere, especially upon China, but tariff talk is very confusing. Many people erroneously assumed a tariff leveled at another country is something that a foregn country pays to the US. Instead, tariffs make trade and shipping more expensive, so prices go up for…
