In yesterday’s news, RFK Jr’s new FDA head, Dr. Martin A. Makary (who made a name for himself by bashing the medical establishment and attacking Covid boosters) suggested that diabetic patients should be denied insulin and taught how to cook. You might think I am speaking in hyperbole. I am not. But to quote directly from Fox news, Makary says: “Maybe we need to treat more diabetes with cooking classes, not just throwing insulin at people.”

That is, the FDA head suggests that a life-saving medicine that has protected tens of millions of people since the 1920s be abandoned… and that people just go on diets instead. Let’s break it down:
